Stop, In The Naaaame of Boom. Before you Blast Apart.

The adventurers of SevFi—Iliana, Garian, Quill, Thaskagh, Belladonna, and Mitsu—found themselves deep in the bowels of Keaton’s sewer system, where they were on the hunt for mysterious enemies and signs of foul play. Led into a pump room filled with danger, the group found a large stack of boxes in the center of the room. Quill had Nib, his raven familiar fly up to the top and look over to the other side. They discovered a group of hostile halflings and half orc on the other side talking in whispers. Garian and Thaskagh decided to knock the pile of boxes over on top of them. The group of halflings and the half orc, not taken by surprise, turn and begin to attack SevFi.

During the combat, a Dragonborn stepped out of the shadows and shouted something in Draconic. This caused the kobolds to reluctantly turn against SevFI.

Mitsu, the skilled ranger, attempted to strike down one of the kobolds, but her shots went wide. Meanwhile, Quill, the Kenku wizard, called upon the spell Toll the Dead, unleashing a necrotic energy that caused one of the halflings’ flesh to melt away, crumpling to the ground. Thasgath unleashed a shout, intimating the kobolds and breaking the hold that the Dragonborn had over them. This also inadvertently cause them to become bound to him as well, now referring to him as “Daddy”.

As the battle raged on, one of the halflings who was fighting with Garian pulled out a small explosive charge from its pocket and detonated it. The explosion killed the halfling and severely injured Garian.

The Dragonborn appeared to be readying a spell. Quill noticed this and cast Cause Fear on it, preventing it from getting any closer. The Dragonborn retreated back into the shadows of the hallway on the side of the room it was on.

Garian, who seemed to recognize the Dragonborn, recklessly charged towards it down the hallway. Once entering the hallway, the group lost sight of him, but heard a handful of explosions. The rest of SevFI continued the battle with the remaining halflings, eventually finishing them all off. Sadly, three of the four kobolds were now dead, with “Good Boy”, being the only survivor.

Mitsu charged into the hallway to find Garian, only to set off the remaining traps, causing more explosions. The rest of the party very carefully entered the hallway, not finding any more traps. Belladonna and Iliana helped to stabilize Garian and Mitsuku. Both of them lay unconscious and broken, victims of the traps set by the Dragonborn. Smoke continued to choke the tunnel, obscuring visibility and hindering the group’s investigation, but they had no choice but to drag their injured friends from the danger zone. As they made their way out, they heard the distant sound of cackling, a chilling reminder that their enemy was still lurking.

Upon further inspection of the corpses and the remains of the room, SevFi discovered that all of the halflings bore a strange coral armband, and scattered about the wreckage were symbols of pink coral, scorched leaves, and a white bird. These symbols seemed to be inverted versions of familiar guild insignias, deepening the mystery. One intact box, though singed, stood out from the wreckage, bearing the coral symbol that Quill picked up and took for further study.

Despite the devastating losses, the group continued to investigate, piecing together the implications of the strange symbols they had encountered. Quill’s sharp memory connected the inverted symbols to various guild halls, but something was amiss. The symbols did not align perfectly with those of the official guilds, leading the party to suspect that they were dealing with an organization either impersonating or subverting the known guilds.

With their comrades in tow and spirits low, the group finally made their way back to the surface. The pump room had been completely obliterated, and the devastation was so severe that even the city’s streets had been affected by the explosions below. They emerged from the sewer system to find Keaton in chaos, with mages and officials scrambling to put out fires caused by the chain of explosions.

SevFi limped back to the guild, where they were met by a furious Bahbahra Sheeldshell. The destruction of the sewer system had caused widespread damage throughout the city, and while SevFi was not directly responsible, they knew they would have to answer for their involvement. As they prepared for a much-needed rest, the group couldn’t shake the feeling that they had only scratched the surface of a much deeper conspiracy, and the echoes of the explosions would linger in their minds as they prepared for their next move.
